Profile:

The legal profession is facing an impending crisis in DEI, and I want to register as a mentor with AS to support the organisation, my firm and the wider legal profession to address these challenges. Seven years ago, I won the AS Commercial Awareness Competition, an achievement that came with a responsibility to “extend the hand down” and ensure that DEI pathways were visible, accessible, and championed. Since then, I have mentored students both informally and formally at the law firms where I have worked, including the many students and career changers who have reached out to me for guidance following my participation and work with AS. I have been committed to supporting them as and when needed.

As a DEI champion at CRS and an advocate both within and outside the workplace, I consistently promote inclusive practices and support initiatives that foster diversity. My alignment with CRS on DEI matters means I can contribute meaningfully to the profession from my workplace.

While I continue to mentor outside of work, I am reminded of the importance of having formal relationships with organisations such as AS in place. I want to register my interest in formally supporting AS with its mentoring programme, offering guidance and support to AS members as they navigate their education and careers.
