Hi, Miles here!

I am currently an Associate at Taylor Wessing LLP, an international law firm focussed on technology and promoting diversity within the legal sector.

I was state school educated and grew up in a single parent household, with a mother that worked three jobs to keep my brother and I going. After achieving poorly in my first year of A-levels, I quickly understood that if I wanted something, I was going to have to work for it.

Self-motivated, I managed to turn my grades around from a CDDE to an AAAC and eventually graduated from Lancaster University with a first in Law, attaining 100% in my dissertation.

Despite my academic success, I found it extremely difficult to get my foot in the door of any law firm. It wasn’t until I came across Chris White and Aspiring Solicitors that things really started to change. Without Aspiring Solicitors, I can whole heartedly say that I wouldn’t be where I am today – training at Taylor Wessing in the tech sector that I love.

Through being an AS Ambassador, I hope that I too can help others from non-traditional backgrounds in the same way Aspiring Solicitors helped me.
